This week FIDM holds the 3rd Annual Innovative Materials Conference on May 14th through the 18th from 8:00am to 6:00pm. I attended the exhibit on Wednesday the 16th with my textile science class. The exhibit showed the latest eco-friendly innovations in the textiles and materials industries. We also listened to speaker, Taryn Hipwell who is also an instructor at FIDM, and she inspired us all by speaking about sustainable and innovative materials in the fashion industry.
I was also able to pick up some resourceful handouts that the FIDM Library provided such as, sourcing organic and sustainable yarns and textiles, resources for innovative materials, a glossary of innovative material terms, and more! I am sure if you love the whole eco-friendly environment you would have found this conference as interesting as I did.
It’s not too late!
If you were not able to make it to the conference you still have 2 days left to learn from the speakers and see the exhibits.
